Back up and protect your shop data
Your records are your shop's memory. A lost phone should be an inconvenience, not a disaster. Four habits make that true.
1. Sign in with an account
When you sign in, your data is saved to your account and you can open the same shop on another phone. Guest data lives only on one phone and browser, and is lost if you clear browser data or lose the phone.
2. Take a backup file regularly
Create a backup and save it somewhere safe such as Google Drive or WhatsApp to yourself. Take one every week, and always before you clear browser data or change phones.
3. Export reports when you need them
You can export your records to Excel, CSV or PDF for your accountant, a bank or your own analysis. Keep a monthly copy of key reports.
4. Lock the app
Set a PIN, and turn on fingerprint or face unlock if your phone supports it, so anyone who borrows your phone cannot read your profit and customer balances.
Restoring on a new phone
Sign in with the same account and your data comes back. If you used guest mode, restore from your backup file instead.
Protect your account
- Use a strong password on the Google account you sign in with.
- Turn on two-step verification for that Google account.
- Never share your login with staff. Give them their own access instead.
- Backup and export: Settings → Data backup & export.
- PIN and fingerprint: Settings → Security & app lock.
- Forgot your PIN? Tap Forgot PIN? on the lock screen. You will be signed out and the PIN removed, and your account data stays safe.
Common questions
Is my data private?
Your data belongs to your account and is protected by per-user security rules. Read the details in our Privacy Policy.
I lost my Gmail. What can I do?
First try Google account recovery. If you cannot recover it, sign in with a new account and contact support from inside the app so we can help you with the old shop.
