Scan with your phone camera
Allow camera permission when the app asks. Hold the phone steady about 10 to 20 cm from the code, with good light and no glare. ShopMaz reads common retail barcodes and QR codes.
Use a USB or Bluetooth scanner
A hardware scanner types the code like a keyboard, which makes it the fastest option at a busy counter. Pair it with your phone or plug it into your computer, open the sale screen and scan.
Link each product to its code once
The first time you scan an item that is not in your list, add it and save its barcode. From then on, every scan finds it instantly. Do this for your top sellers first.
Make labels for loose items
Items without a factory barcode, such as loose spices, repackaged goods or phone accessories, can get your own label. Create the product, then print a label with its code and price and stick it on the item or shelf.
If scanning does not work
- Check that camera permission is allowed for the browser or app.
- Clean the camera lens and increase the light. Shiny wrappers cause glare, so tilt the pack slightly.
- Use Chrome on Android if you can, since it supports the scanner best.
- As a last resort type the code by hand or search by name.
- Scan from the sale screen, or while adding a product to fill in its barcode.
- Print labels under Business tools → Labels.

Which barcodes can ShopMaz read?
Common retail barcodes such as UPC and EAN, QR codes and several other formats. If a code will not scan, try better light or type it manually.
Can two products share one barcode?
Each product should have its own code. If a supplier uses one code for different sizes, add the size to the product name and give each its own label.
